About The Role

We require proven talent acquisition leadership expertise to make an immediate and consistent impact to hiring amazing talent, in a growing studio. You will be delivering our commitment to building talented, diverse teams, (some in house, some working all over the world) maintaining Blue Zoo’s high quality bar, helping us achieve our long-term ambitions, all in a high change, fast paced environment.
 
Reporting to the Head of People & Talent you will be a critical  member of the team and the studio. This role is primarily focused on the acquisition of diverse external talent and working with the Talent Development Manager on mobilising internal careers for our people. We are looking for someone who can naturally impart our studio's values when communicating with prospective employees. This includes willingness to go the extra mile to help others out and an eagerness to collaborate, learn and develop from those around them.
 
Day to Day:
  • Designing and delivering a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to ensure Blue Zoo continuously maintains a high talent bar and supports our strategic and operational requirements.
  • Building and managing supportive and collaborative relationships with our internal heads of department, hiring managers, production managers and other key personnel.
  • Leading on direct search for critical senior and key personnel hires such as Art Directors, Series Directors, Episodic Directors, etc.
  • Achieving and maintaining a high level of diversity by developing, implementing and enforcing hiring & talent diversity practices. You will also be a key figure in the Blue Zoo diversity and inclusion team.
  • Working closely with the department heads and key personnel to foresee staffing needs and provide talent strategies and workforce planning to attract top talent in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Building an innovative, data-informed and scalable talent acquisition function and ensuring the talent acquisition function is a critical partner to the business.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing the Talent Resourcer.
  • Ensuring all our hiring managers and interviewers deliver on our recruitment experience and quality promise and provide talent acquisition training to hiring managers to deliver interviews effectively aligned to our employer brand.
  • Participating in our employer brand development and ensuring we are amplifying our brand as an employer of choice.
  • Collaborating with the Technical Producer and heads of department on workflow efficiencies to ensure that the hiring demands of the studio are being met.
  • Providing recruiting metrics and analytics that provide business insight.
  • Identifying major industry events where BZ can be represented and create and direct  outreach efforts for candidate generation and development, including representing BZ at events.
  • Participating in the annual budget planning to ensure the recruiting team has appropriate resources to meet the studios needs

About You

Must Have:
  • Minimum of 6 years related work experience in full lifecycle recruiting engagements and at least 2 years' experience managing a recruiting team.
  • Experience in a similar role in animation, VFX and/or games.
  • Ability to establish priorities independently, multi-task efficiently, and work with diverse personalities and all levels of management in a high change environment.
  • You have excellent written, visualisation and verbal communication skills and are an engaging public speaker.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and scaling talent acquisition infrastructures to support consistent growth, in a high change environment.
  • Experience of direct search for hard to fill positions.
  • You are comfortable challenging and holding others to account effectively while maintaining great relationships with them.
  • You welcome feedback and are always evaluating the status quo to identify areas for improvement.
  • You are strategic as well as a hands on operator with the ability to problem-solve in a fast paced environment and thinking creatively yet practically about solutions.
  • You will foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Bonus Points:
  • Good awareness/connectivity to industry talent acquisition trends and continuously seeking out new innovative recruitment practices.
  • Experience of re-defining and executing new processes and workflows in a fast changing environments.
