About The Role

Our Junior Tech Animators are excellent problem solvers and are an integral support to the animation team here at Blue Zoo. Their day to day focuses on problem solving, supporting the animation team with blend shape fixes as well as creating key placeholder animation for the FX team.

This role will be for an exciting upcoming CG project in our long form team with a start date of late June 2022.

This role requires the hired candidate to be based in the UK, outside of London (outside the M25). We would like to highlight that the hired person in this role may be required to work part or full time at our Brighton Studio Hub. This role will also report into our Brighton Studio

Day to Day:

  • Working on floor/asset intersections
  • Responding to, and acting on notes and feedback from the Director and CG Supervisor
  • Preparing animation shots and working closely with our shot artist.
  • Prepare and export animation caches for the FX team and other departments along the pipeline. 
  • Support the animation team with Blend shape fixes
  • Managing your time efficiently to meet the deadlines of your assigned work

About You

Must Have:

  • Experience with Autodesk Maya
  • Good eye for modelling/ blendshapes
  • Some experience in working in Animation
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Receptive to feedback from team members and the director
  • Key eye for detail

Bonus Points:

  • Previous experience in TV / Film
  • Problem solving skills
  • Rigging experience (Python or Mel script knowledge)
