About The Role

Our Lead modelling artists are incredible world builders and excellent motivators. They build the props, environments & characters that allow worlds to come to life, and add the charming details that make our stories believable. They also support their team members and lead by example, making sure their entire team is delivering consistently high quality assets. 


Your day-to-day will focus on creating detailed, stylised assets based on informative concept designs, whilst meeting production deadlines and that all important brief from our Directors and Clients. 



Day to Day:

  • Effectively realising a 2D concept through to 3D, as well as being able to work with minimal design
  • Working as part of a team of modelling and texture artists, and regularly communicating between your Supervisors and Directors
  • Managing your team’s assets and time efficiently to meet those deadlines.
  • Responding positively to, and acting on notes and feedback from your Director and Supervisor.
  • Giving constructive feedback to improve asset quality across the team.
  • Communicating with and responding to other departments to manage any fixes and notes.
  • Responsible for training the new team members on the project and studio pipeline.
  • Communicating with and addressing fixes from other departments, based on existing assets.
  • Modelling, UVing, texturing and shading stylised assets.
  • Initial approval of your team’s assets before they are passed on to the CG Supervisor or Head of Assets.

About You

Must Have:

  • Work with modelling tools both in Maya and Zbrush
  •  Knowledge of clean topology
  • UV mapping with either Maya or UVLayout
  • Texturing assets using either Substance Painter, MARI or Photoshop
  • A team player and great collaborator
  • Work independently and manage a team, leading by example.
  • Interpret volume, form and texture when creating models from concept designs
  • Creative problem solving

Bonus Points:

  • 1+ years production experience in a Lead role
  • 3+ years animation production experience
  • Knowledge of Substance Painter
  • Knowledge of Substance Designer
