About The Role

As Director on one of our major 3D productions you are responsible for managing all aspects of the in-house production - keeping it on brief, managing the quality of the production and delivering the vision of the client whilst also maintaining broadcaster requirements and expectations. You will make sure the creative ambition and production requirements are met, which means you must be able to negotiate and collaborate across all departments to reach the best outcome for the production.


Day to Day:

  • Working closely with the client on the day to day aspects - discussing briefs, reviewing work, discussing feedback and problem-solving together.
  • Working across all aspects of the production to ensure creative direction is adhered to and all technical quality control requirements are met.
  • Working in partnership with the creators to deliver their vision, understanding the overall storytelling and humour of the show and making sure it’s clear to the whole team.
  • Briefing, guiding, supervising and reviewing the work produced by the teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to all departments for each episode and play a lead role in helping to find creative solutions when required.
  • Reviewing passes from all stages of the pipeline with the internal and external teams and writing notes/drawovers to push work to the desired standard and ensure it is within scope.
  • Working closely with the Production Team to ensure the schedule is adhered to, flagging any delays as soon as possible and providing creative and technical solutions.
  • Working diligently to deliver the client’s vision whilst also meeting broadcaster requirements/expectations.
  • Keeping production scope in check by working with teams/departments across the studio, specifically when feedback from scripts move into the storyboard part of the pipeline.
  • Setting up relevant talks and presentations for the teams to help further their development.

About You


Must Have:

  • Demonstrable experience as Director or Lead on longform series in all areas of production.
  • Extensive experience in 3D animation production for television and film.
  • Excellent creative and technical communication skills.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team across the life of a production, especially in challenging situations.
  • Ability to problem solve and find creative solutions quickly.
  • Good understanding of storytelling, character and cinematography
  • Experience in the storyboarding process to deliver tight and entertaining animatics.
  • Keen eye for detail

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with FTrack on productions.
